     BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING

The meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at 6:30 pm at Sharon High School in Room 604 with  Walter “Joe” Roach, Selectman William A. Heitin, and Town Administrator Ben Puritz

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m.

Resume Regular Meeting Night Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008

VOTED:  (Heitin/Roach) Voted unanimously to approve the 2008 Selectmen Summer Schedule

SCHEDULE FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION MEETINGS REGARDING TRASH AND RECYCLING

The Board agreed to hold a public hearing about trash and recycling on Tuesday, June 10, 1008.  A second meeting will be held in the fall.  Chairman Roach asked that Superintendent of Public Works Eric Hooper be contacted about attending.

SIGN PROCLAMTATION RECOGNIZTING ABIGIAL MARSTERS OF THE LIBARARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES

VOTED:  (Heitin/Roach) Voted unanimously to sign and present the proclamation to Abigail Marsters on May 13, 2008 for her contribution as chair and member of the Library Board of Trustees for the last nine years.

OTHER

The Board discussed the situation with the Bay Road detours and the length of time it was expected to take to fix Bay Road.  The Board requested that better signage be placed at both the Castle Drive and the Mountain Street detours.  The Board also requested that Town Administrator Puritz contact his counterpart in Stoughton to invite the Stoughton Board of Selectmen to a Sharon Board of Selectmen meeting.  Town Administrator Puritz will report at the next meeting.
